After some years teaching English in Preparatory/Secondary schools and 5 years working as a translator in a Portuguese pharmaceutical company where I collaborated directly with the Medical Director, Technical Director and Marketing Department, I decided to leave the company and work full time as freelancer. I’ve been doing so since 2004. Presently I work with several translation agencies/companies in Portugal (my former company is one of my major clients) and worldwide (most of them I have been working with for 4, 5 years now).
Besides translating in other areas such as software, electronics/electricity, 70% of my work consists in the translation of medical articles, PSURs, SPCs, Inside Leaflets, Clinical /Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Studies, Marketing Plans, EMEA guidelines, EU directives and Decree-Laws, software & hardware user manuals of medical equipment, translation of reagent inserts and marketing articles.
My language combinations/areas of specialization are:
ENGLISH-PORTUGUESE (Areas: medicine, pharmacy, software, electrical installations and UPSs)
PORTUGUESE-ENGLISH (Areas: medicine, pharmacy)
FRENCH-PORTUGUESE (Areas: medicine, pharmacy)
SPANISH-PORTUGUESE (Areas: medicine, pharmacy, software, electrical installations and UPSs)
