I have a passion for editing/manipulating photographs. I not only edit photographs, but also create artistic photo-montages (collages of sorts) that have a story or theme behind them.
Skills and Experience:
I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 to do my work on photographs. I have been using Photoshop for over five years now, and have taught myself everything I know.
Detailed Service Description:
I can restore photographs that have been severely damaged, see "Family of Five"; or photographs that have not been damaged so much as just worn (such as scuffs on the surface or fading), see "Real Deal". I can also create a collage of photographs that can tell a story.
I prefer to have a little bit of a deeper knowledge about my subjects, in order to more successfully give someone what they want. For example, the "Family of Five" photograph was given to me, when the woman found out that I edit photos. She told me about how her father and brother passed away, and the few photos she had of them were severely damaged by water. By knowing the story behind the restoration, it gave me a reason to care about the subject, and that allows me to do the best job I possibly can. If someone does not care about the subject, then patience is limited and simple edits are "good enough." I do not want to do a job that is "good enough," I want to do the best job possible. For example, sometimes a small section of the photo is so damaged that it takes hours of work to do the job perfectly, and if the editor doesn't care, then they will not have the patience to spend those hours necessary for the job.
